Christmas peace & joy

This was a challenging Christmas card because both sets are not from Christmas sets. There is a challenge on stamptv to make a Christmas card but to focus on the sentiment. I really wanted to use a Gina K stamp set but I don't own Christmas sets. The background stamp is from Life is good and has the tree backgrounds, animals, a log cabin (which I could've used too) and a train. The sentiment is from Many Wishes which has dandelions and words. It proves you don't need a Christmas set to make a Christmas card!

Paper: Night of navy, whisper white
Ink: craft/classic night of navy, ballet blue
Other: MS snowflake border, cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder, spellbinders oval classic/scallop, sakura glitter pen, spellbinders shapeabilities fancy tags, ribbon

Explore, Dream, Discover

I did both of these cards for the Stamptv April release challenges. The brayering on the colour challenge card, blue and yellow, took me a while to figure out but I did! Once the brayering was done the card was so fast. Its minimal and for me that was its appeal, and that it was fast!
The second card is for the sketch challenge. Again I brayered the background and just added, this time embossed, the dandelions. I didn't emboss the french script background I wanted it softer.
The nature scenes from Gina K Designs are so gorgeous!

Stamp Fridays

Yesterday was Friday and I had friends over for a stamp-n-play date. I love Fridays! We cased (copied) two cards. The first card was by Theresa Momber from her website crafting the web found here. She is an incredible artist, her cards are like paintings! We used slightly different colours, added a different saying and used a different butterfly but otherwise it was the same.
Stamps: Life is good (cattails), KC & company (butterfly) Stampin Up whimsical words, vintage vogue, itty bitty backgrounds
Paper: Dusty durango, apricot appeal, basic black, whisper white
Ink: apricot appeal, pretty in pink, tangerine tango, dusty durango, basic black
Other: brads
The second one was by Cindy Lawrence found here. If you've never been to her website you should visit, she also does beautiful cards. She is great at watercolouring something which I have to have more practice with.
Stamp: Stampin up Echoes of Kindness
Paper: Almost amethyst, whisper white
Ink: Almost amethyst, apricot appeal, elegant eggplant
Other: eyelet punch, ribbon, dew drops, argyle embossing folder

Sunset reflection

This card is for an inspiration challenge at stamptv found here. I look at the fall colours in the photo providied and this is what I see. I LOVE how the background stamp turned out. Its a retired set from Stampin Up called Floral. I used craft bravo burgandy and embossed it! Gorgeous. The lighter red strip of paper I also made. I had a full background piece of whisper white and covered it with leaves in different colours (they are embossed) then I sponged ruby red and bravo burgandy on it. It was too light to use with my reflection so I cut it up and only used a strip of it. I added ribbon and dots and voila.

Stamps: Stampin Up floral, Gina K Life is good
Paper: Whisper white, bravo burgandy
Ink: Bravo burgandy, ruby red
Other: spellbinders oval, ribbon, dew drops
