Gorgeous, simply gorgeous

This has got to be the most gorgeous cigar box that Robin has brought home! The scrollwork is incredible and the deep hues of brown are so warm. There is scroll work on the sides but nothing on the front panel and back. This sentiment is a great one but I don't know if it does the box justice, I may play with it some more, but for now this is how it looks.

Flowers for you

My son brought home a whole bunch of wallpaper books again, I've got quite a stash now lol, and I found these flowers on a border. The bottom layer is a beige paper and I found the identical border in blue. Cut out the flowers I wanted to highlight, added pearls and ribbon and you've got a gorgeous box. I'll buy some cedar balls or chips to put into the box and that should get rid of any cigar smell, I hope. If you have any other suggestions I would appreciate them. I have a "few" more cigar boxes to convert. I've entered this into One Stop Craft Challenge which is to do a non card.

Elephant cigar box

This gorgeous elegant is not a card but an altered cigar box. My husband brings home tons of boxes from his friends at work and this is one of them. The bottom and sides are a solid black. The only black I had to add was on the top of the box on the bottom corner. Just under my name it looks like its white but that's just the glare from the light on the black. I used a prisma marker to blacken the top of the box, added the ribbon and paper. The ribbon pulls the lid open. This was my stamp-n-play date, Glenda did a cigar box with swans on it. Fabulous play date! I've done sooo many posts and trying to post two pictures is still so frustrating! So after spending considerable time trying to get the pics where I want them, I left the original cigar box on the bottom of the post! lol
Stamps: Local Rubber King Tree 2 and Kenya
Paper: apricot appeal, cajun craze, whisper white
Ink: mellow moss, always artichoke, apricot appeal, tangerine tango, dusty durango, cajun craze, close to cocoa
Other: prisma gray 10% marker, ribbon, pearls

House Mouse cigar box

My husband brings home tons of cigar boxes and this one was so sturdy I had to cover it and give it to my son. I'm hoping that maybe he'll keep all of his pay stubs from his "new job" (hope, hope) in this box. I already made one box for him but I think he'll love this one too! As soon as I saw this image I thought of my youngest son. This is so him, just lazing around relaxing. I've entered this into three challenges. The first is Kaboodle Doodles and the challenge is to celebrate summer. The second challenge is Charisma Cardz and is to make a project for a boy. The third challenge is House Mouse challenge to create a project to celebrate something new. I am hoping this is a good luck charm and Steven gets the job! Each side of the box has a different saying. The front says "Never regret anything that made you laugh" and then each of these are on a side "smiles are contagious", "Today belongs to you", "Dance to your own music". Love all of the sayings!

Stamps: House Mouse keeping cool, stampin up Sanded background, sentiments are from Inkadinkado Thoughts for the day
Paper: Early Espresso, basic black, gable green, whisper white
Ink: bashful blue, ballet blue, early espresso, green galore, glorious green
Other: prisma markers, ribbon, ek corner punch, brads, crystal effects, stampin up square lattice

Steven's cigar box

My son Steven needed a place to put receipts instead of leaving them everywhere in his room. So I covered this cigar box in the slim hope that he would use it, lol! Its easy to cover the box but using standard tape doesn't work. I used Scor-tape which is fantastic but you could also use the super sticky red tape you get at Michaels. Both papers are actually wallpaper samples that my middle son BJ brought home from work! An easy project with great results.
