Shimmery trees

I was playing with the shimmer paint again and I'm having a terrible time spraying the paper and then getting it to lay flat!! The oval shape is OK but the other two papers are warped! I thought when I taped them together that might help but NOO! So if anyone can tell me how they do it, spray and lay a book over it, or spray and what? I'm using 70% alcohol and 10 drops of shimmer paint. Its frustrating because the final look is so awesome!
This card is once again for a challenge the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential! The challenge is to dress up your trees. Well between Glenda and I we must have at least 20 different trees so I chose this one. Winter is coming, its only -6C (20F) and the frost isn't thick yet but later in winter the trees all have thick frost on them and they glimmer. Its gorgeous here at that time. Of course its also a "bit" cold but gorgeous. So I tried to do my trees with a bit of frost or snow on them. I used a white gel pen and then sprayed all layers of the card with the mist. Its very pretty and shimmery IRL.
Stamps: Local Rubber King
Paper: whisper white, night of navy
Ink: ballet blue, brilliant blue, night of navy, basic black
other: cuttlebug embossing folder, spellbinders ovals, ribbon, shimmer paint

OK I'm so sad...lol. the warped card bothered me so much I went out and bought 99% rubbing alcohol, it works so much better! I remade the card and no warping!

  1. Yeah Dawn!! This is soooo gorgeous hun!!! I've always loved the frost on the trees and how just before the sun rises how it glistens and sparkles..you've captured that beauty in your card!! The tree image is gorgeous too!! :) I've sprayed and had my card stock warp too..usually I lay it down and put a heavy book or a stack of magazines over it to help it lay flat. Using a heavy card stock when you spray will help too. I actually use the Paper Trey Ink cardstock which is 110# weight. Thanks so much for playing along with us in the Saturday Spotlight this week!! I love looking at what you create!! HUGS
