Cherry on Top

I was sooo tired yesterday after painting again (only one more gallon of ceiling paint left, thank goodness) that I wasn't going to stamp. But I had already coloured the cherries AND cut them out so I thought I can do this. I grabbed a sketch and am totally surprised that I had it done in no time at all! Yikes

Friday was my stamp day with Glenda and this is what we did, this nurse would scare anyone, lol! She is one of the stamps you get when you donate to Help Katie on Jak Heath's site. Jak is an amazingly talented designer who's helping a friend and fellow designer Katie, who was diagnosed with cancer. You can read about Katie and follow her progress but before you do take a look at Jak's site and what you receive for your donation. This is the second stamp I've used from the sets, the magnolia is another gorgeous card I made. I had a really hard time with the sentiment on the front and finally decided to put nothing at all. Glenda however had no trouble at all, hers is awesome. This card is for a friend who's having surgery on Valentine's day and I still might change my mind and put yikes on it but I'll have to think about it, lol! I've entered her into Jak Heath's make a card with one of the donated stamps, Papertake Weekly and Catch the Bug Challenge both which are anything goes, Moving Along with the Times which is to use red, Cute Card Thursday which is to banish the blues (use funny image), and Stamp Something which is to use a digi.

My youngest son needed a birthday card for his friend who turned 22 years old, lol! These kids have a great sense of humour and I suggested this new image from Just Inklined, I love them! So once I coloured him I asked Steven what sentiment should I use and he said Have a Herpy Derpy Birthday. I have no idea what it means but Steven and his friends thought it was totally hilarious! I've entered this into Charisma Cardz, now this is sooo funny. They have a challenge to do a birthday card or celebration with a two in it. So far this week I've done two cards, one for a 32nd anniversary and now this one for a 22nd birthday. When would this ever happen again! The second shadow box is finally done. IRL you can see the 3-d effects, the ribbon on the door, the tree, the light and the sled. I put crystal effects on the string of lights and stained the frame. I also missed staining the back of the frame which you can see and I'll correct later, but not now I'm too tired! I had trouble getting the glue dots to stick because the stain was still wet, lol! Strawberries

This card is sooo not my style but I thought I'd give it a try. I very rarely use design paper and when I do its usually just one piece! I saw a sketch I wanted to try on stamp tv. Melissa described using different patterned paper so I thought why not give it a try. Well, I now have lots of little pieces of dp in my craft room. I'm not very good at grouping dp together, so it took a lot of trial, lots of errors and two days of trying, lol! I do like how it turned out. Secret Crafter Saturday challenge is to use the theme of Strawberries and Cream. Cute Card Thursday is Lets get fruity.
