Alexandra

I love the look of Alexandra, she's so classic. Rubbernecker has a full line of ladies, and has recently added more with awesome outfits. This card is for two challenges, the first Frosted Designs, is to use masking. I masked Alexandra so I could do the background wallpaper and floor. The second challenge is from Stamptv and is to use tone on tone for a background, done.

Time to Shop

I just love this image of Crissy Armstrong's; Oswalda is just adorable! I do a lot of cards that just have an image on the front, nothing else, so that I can put anything on the inside. This can be a birthday, thinking of you, want to go stamp shopping card, lol! I entered this card for two challenges, the first is Crissy Armstrong's new challenge blog Sundays with Crissy. This is her second challenge and it was to use dots. I used the Stampin up Perfect dots embossing folder and added dots to Oswalda's hat and purse. The second challenge is with Squigglefly which sells Crissy Armstrong digital stamps (Oswalda). They have a couple of challenge blogs, one that is open to everyone and one on SNR card universe which you need to be a member of. Its free and its fun to do the challenges of a lot of stamping groups. Squigglefly's challenge this week was to use glitter. I put glitter on Oswalda's necklace, eyelids, ribbon on her hat and the spots on the stampin up background. Lots of glitter!
Stamp: Squigglefly Oswalda goes shopping
Paper: Barely banana, night of navy, whisper white
Ink: Summer sun, night of navy

gift Box

I did this gift box for a challenge at stamptv. The paper I used for the top is so cool, it looks like a sheet of stamps. It would make a great card background. I used Gina K stamps, I love anything antique, and labels three from spellbinders. Now I just have to make something to go in it!
Stamps: Gina K timeless Treasures
Paper: 20cent clearance dp paper
Ink: Close to cocoa, creamy caramel, more mustard
Other: brads, lace, crystal effects, clear embossing powder

Explore, Dream, Discover

I did both of these cards for the Stamptv April release challenges. The brayering on the colour challenge card, blue and yellow, took me a while to figure out but I did! Once the brayering was done the card was so fast. Its minimal and for me that was its appeal, and that it was fast!
The second card is for the sketch challenge. Again I brayered the background and just added, this time embossed, the dandelions. I didn't emboss the french script background I wanted it softer.
The nature scenes from Gina K Designs are so gorgeous!

Kids

Sometimes I feel like this lady, fabulous stamp by Rubbernecker! There is a sentiment on the stamp I just masked it out, it reads "When I woke up I had one nerve left, & now you're getting on it..." I made this card for a friend who's having kid issues, lol, this card is perfect. Its also perfect for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and that was to use Distressing This could be anything, distressed colours, ink distressing, tearing, paper edge distressing - it's up to you! SOOO I am not really good at distressing but my image is completely distressed, so that is my distressing!! I am taking this "its up to you" literally. I love the sentiment I added because its sooo true. I was completely normal before I had kids, well almost, ok not so much.

This birthday card is for my middle son. As soon as I saw this digital stamp I knew what I'd do with it! Every time we mentioned "work" of any kind, school, yard, chores, BJ needed to do his business first, lol!! We tease him about it and this card was perfect. I also did it for a sketch challenge at Stamp TV.

Golfing coasters

These coasters are for the silent auction this Saturday at my husbands curling banquet. I had put together a basket of cards 3 years in a row and needed a change. I used sharpies and prisma markers (alcohol pens) so that they won't fade. I've done most of my coasters in water based markers and then sealed them but two of the coasters faded soo... no more water based markers! See alcohol is so much better than water...lol!!
Stamps: Our Craft Lounge golfin gramps, Gina K Life is Good
Paper: none

I made this card for 2 challenges and to give to a great boss. This first challenge is Sundays with Crissy a bi-weekly challenge blog. This is the #1 challenge and its to Make it a combo. We can interpret that anyway we want to. Sooo I combined layers of paper, combined ribbons, combined colours. The second challenge is from Stamp Something and the challenge is something layered. I have 3 sections of layered paper. Lots of layers in this card. This will also be my submission for a design team call. Crissy Armstrong has started a new challenge blog and is putting out a design team call. I placed a blinkie on my sidebar so you too can take a look at the call and see if you are interested in applying. I love her images so decided to give it a try. Dream

I did another card with the Hero Arts Dandelion stamp, I love it! I brayered the background with brilliant blue, summer sun and then ridinghood red. It was perfect... then I promptly dropped the brilliant blue stamp pad on it! So then I started again and redid everything. I added a horizon with brilliant blue and sponged a sunlight strip onto the water. Stamped the dandelion stamp in black and the butterflies are from Stampin up beautiful wings. I'm entering this into two challenges the first one is Frosted Designs and the challenge was to create something with the word dream in it, done. The second is stamptv color challenge and it was to use royal blue (brilliant) yellow (summer sun) and red (ridinghood red), done.

Mosaic Card

I've never done a mosaic card before but after seeing a lot of them over at Innovative Stamp Creations (ISC) I decided to try one. I brayered the background on two alike and left out the yellow on the third. Just stamped in black and I was done. I struggled with what paper to use as a background and finally decided on wallpaper! lol It's a gorgeous marble sample of burgandy and gold that my son brought home from work. Kids gotta love them! Here's Innovative stamp Creations website take a look at their creations.

Dandelion Frame

I stopped quickly into a store yesterday and saw this stamp and knew immediately what I would do with it! Sometimes when I buy a stamp I know I would like it but it takes me some time to use it. NOT this one, its a gorgeous 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 (10.8 x 14) stamp. A FULL background which means I have to make my own envelope because it won't fit into an A2 size one. OH WELL! This card was sooo easy and its perfect. I brayered the background and stamped with black ink, added a sentiment, ribbon and photo corners, its done! Next time I'll mask off the right side and part of the top and again brayer the background.
Stamps: Hero Arts Dandelion Frame, Little Paper Shop take time
Paper: basic black, whisper white, tangerine tango, always artichoke

Sweet Pea book mark

I made a thinking of you card and posted it yesterday, this is the bookmark that will go with it. Before I give it away I'll laminate it but I took the photos before laminating since its easier to photograph without the shine. This flower is in the same set as the large bouquet of sweet peas. The border punch is from MS and adds so much. The back is a stamp from Rubbernecker and is sooo true! I didn't use an eyelet since both sides are a good side. Easy project great results!
Stamps: Flourishes Sweet Peas, Rubbernecker sentiment
Paper: basic black, whisper white
Ink: Summer sun, yoyo yellow, mellow moss
Other: ribbon, MS border and corner punch,

Think of You

These incredibly gorgeous flowers are from the Flourishes set sweet peas. The stamp is so large you really can only do it on an oversize card. This is a 5 1/4"square (13.5x13.5cm) and the stamp just fits. I did this for a friend who's going in for major surgery Tuesday. This is for the stamptv challenge to use white, black and yellow. What an elegant combination.

Paper: Whisper white, basic black

Baked Alaska

I absolutely adore this guy, the whole stamp set by Gina K is right up my alley! I love humour and this set is perfect. This card is for a friend's birthday this month as well as three challenges.
The first is a color challenge from colourQ to use night of navy, tangerine tango, tempting turquoise, soft suede and white. I used soft suede the least, brads, cake and tie, but I did use it. The second challenge was a sketch challenge from CPS card sketches. The only thing I changed was the position of the brads, they are not evenly spaced, they're just a little off. I thought it would match the card because it was just a little off! The third challenge is from Cards for men to make a man's card with humour. The outside says "You know you're old when...(inside says) Your birthday cake looks like baked Alaska! Is that not just too funny!
Stamps: Gina K Designs, Stampin Up Weathered
Paper: Night of navy, tangerine tango, tempting turquoise
Ink: craft night of navy, classic tangerine tango, tempting turquoise, soft suede
Other: brads, Stamping up perfect dots, clear embossing powder, stampin up corner rounder

Golfers Birthday

Isn't this guy great! I went shopping on the weekend and this is one of the stamps I bought! The inside of the card says "When the score gets too high...Stop Counting!" He'll be good for lots of my masculine cards.
Did you hear the news? Stampin' Up! is discontinuing 29 colours plus 2 neutrals! They are rearranging their colour families so that there will only be 3 families and the 4th one is neutrals! There are 10 colours in each family and some retired in-colours are coming back. All of this is called Stampin' Up Color Renovation! I'll miss some of the old colours and I plan on stocking up on my favorite colours like Mellow Moss. I do so much with it!! lol
