Just stopped by to say Hello

This gorgeous little mouse is a digital freebie from Phindy's Place. The little bird peeking is just perfect for a hello card. Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential's challenge yesterday was to make a "slick" card. So in other words use slick cardstock, embellishments, acetate paper, crystal lacquer, etc. I used crystal effects to "slick" up my umbrella, raincoat, rainboots and water puddle. You can see the shiny or "slick" in the second photo. An easy fast card to make just to say "Hello".

Paper: Whisper white, gable green, tempting turquoise

Happy Birthday Mom

Today would have been my Mom's 71st birthday. I bought this stamp set just so I could use this orchid, its just like the orchids mom had. Mom grew beautiful orchids of all colours with the blooms sometimes lasting 9 months! This card was also for a stamptv colour challenge to use the colours wine, yellow and kraft. If you haven't visited stamped smiles before, I've talked about Vicki and her fabulous site, you should head on over to her blog Stamped smiles she's giving away blog candy. She has an awesome site with great tutorials and gorgeous cards!

Glenda's Birthday card

I'm off to Tuscon in the morning for a week but I had to share this last birthday card I did today. The inside says "You're so screwed!" Glenda not only is still my friend but she loved the card. There were two challenges I had in mind when I made this card. The first was Saturday Spotlight with hidden potential and the challenge was to clean things up a bit. I chose to not sponge around the image, which is unusual for me and not to add any embellishments. The second challenge was from stamptv and was a sketch challenge. The only thing I changed was the oval, at stamptv its a circle, close enough.
Stamp: free digi stamp, computer generated sentiment
Paper: pixie pink, whisper white
Ink: primsa markers

Birthday wishes

This card was done for a challenge at Squigglefly stamps at SNR universe here. A free digital stamp was given, the bunny and cupcake, and two challenges were issued. One was the colour challenge which I had already done with the shy bear and the other a sketch challenge. I very rarely do kids cards so this was definitely a challenge for me. I found that the colour challenge pink, yellow and brown worked well with this digi as well so I used them again.

Puffy Fish

I needed another get well card, just in case, and I've been wanting to use this guy for a long time. He's a digi stamp so you can make him any size, I chose huge! He is perfect for the Saturday Spotlight with hidden potential challenge found here which was to think bigger is better! Well he takes up almost my whole card, he sure is big! The second challenge was at stamptv found here and was to use the colours, black, white, yellow and sage green. This green was the closest to sage I had and I think it works.

Stamps: fish from digi shack, sentiment computer generated
Paper: yoyo yellow, basic black, whisper white
Ink: prisma markers
Other: swiss dots embossing folder, nestabilities label 8 and scallop circles, ribbon, dew drops

Aunt Laurette's and Laureen Birthday Cards

Its my Aunt's birthday this Saturday so I made these cards for my Dad to give to Aunt Laurette and Laureen (her identical twin sister) They will be turning 80. My Dad is also an identical twin. Dad and Uncle Jim looked the same forever but if you listened to them you could tell them apart. Not so with Laurette and Laureen, they're scary! lol My cousins parents are both identical twins. No twins on either side of the family though, not yet! Both cards I did for a challenge, there's a shocker! Its Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential found here. The challenge is to Let the Sunshine In! I think I did that!
