Its off to school we go

I woke up to a nice chill in the air and bright blue sky, what a great day! The heat of summer is gone, the leaves will start to turn yellow soon and the kids are back to school. That is also the theme for Sentimental Sunday's challenge which Doodle Pantry is sponsoring today! I printed Book Ants  twice, coloured then cut out the book, pencil and apple to pop them up. I textured the creamy caramel paper with crackle embossing folder hoping it would look like the binding of a book. My husband said "Nope" doesn't look like a book to him. Oh well maybe next time, lol!
Hop on over to Sentimental Sundays and give the challenge a try. If you use a Doodle Pantry image you can enter our challenge as well, which is on until the 24th. Just for entering you receive a free image, this month its Mister Monkey!

A New Year and New Images

Happy New Year Everyone, I hope you have a healthy, happy 2012! Along with a new year comes new images from Doodle Pantry and if that isn't enough there's still a sale of 50% off  all stamps for today and tomorrow. Go to the specials page at Doodle Pantry, grab the coupon code, and go shopping!
There are fabulous new images and I chose this wolf who was so easy to work with. I used prisma markers on him but he looked too smooth, so I took a finger sponge and with a swiping motion added darker colours. IRL he looks soooo good.
The background paper is wallpaper and I added epoxy dots to the eyes to add dimension. Nice!
Jan 1 is also the start of a new Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge. Just for participating, using a Doodle Pantry image, you receive a free image, the workout birdie. If you don't have an image you can browse the freebie page and grab one. Take a look at what the other Doodle Pantry designers have made and go shopping, how could you not at 50% off, but hurry the sale ends tomorrow at midnight!

Carnations anyone

As far back as I can remember Carnations have been my favourite flower. My birthday is in January, carnations are January's flower, is there a connection, I don't know, lol! My absolute favourite colour of carnations is deep red, which is also the colour of a garnet, January's stone. Hmmm I think I see a pattern here. This is one of the last posts as designer for Clear Dollar Stamps, my term is ending... "sniff". So I saved the best for almost last! You still have a week left to enter Clearly Inspired challenge #38 use lots of pink for a chance to win a $10.00 gift certificate or a gorgeous digital pumpkin pie image! I've entered this into:
