Christmas Friends

This is my second post for today since I did this card for a challenge and its due tonight at 8:00. Yes that's cutting it close, lol! The challenge was to do a partial cuttlebug embossing. So the way I did the background it looks like wallpaper on top and paint on the bottom! After embossing I used a Stampin Up sanding block on the embossed section so it looks lighter.

Christmas songs

This is a retired set from Stampin up and is perfect for the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential challenge found here. The challenge is to create a card with our favorite music in mind. My absolute favorite music is Christmas music sooo here is my card, lol! IRL the card is very sparkly, I used shimmer paint/alcohol spray over everything AND used a sakura glitter pen on the cuttlebug background. There is diamond stickles on the lamp.

A Timeless Thankyou

This card is for two challenges the first is stamptv which is to do a split pattern background. I first brayered more mustard onto glossy cardstock then held it over a candle, then stamped the leaf stamp removing the soot (soot stamping). The rest is pretty self explanatory. You know your old when...

This card was done for a friend. The outside says "You know you're old when... and the inside says "Your ears are hairier than your head!" LOL! I did this card for three challenges, the card postitioning systems one again here , stamp tv Potluck Friday which was to create your own word background found here AND for Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential here which was to use an image over and over again! I stamped the background saying just a few times, lol! This old guy is hilarious and doing a background saying you're old worked great! Sorry Ray!

Anniversary card

I finally had some time to play yesterday so I chose to do the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential! The challenge was to do a card with words on it. I have this sentiment in a couple of different sizes, it says it all, lol, I adore it! I made it an anniversary card, the inside says Once in a while, Right in the middle of an ordinary life, Love gives us a fairytale. Happy Anniversary. To play along go here. Snowmen Melt Your Heart

I got to stamp-n-play with Glenda yesterday, we had so much fun. Sometimes we don't get as much "work"done because we're too busy laughing! This is for two challenges, the first is Flourishes Timeless Tuesday found here and the challenge was to watercolour. All the snowmen are watercoloured and then clear embossed. I brayered the background and used a sponge on the snow to give it dimension. The two piles of snowballs and snowmen sign are all cut out and mounted separately. Then I added the snowflakes. The second challenge was for stamptv found here and it was to create something with snow. I think I did that! LOL Have a great weekend.

Rollercoaster

This is a radical change from my usual cards but I thought I'd give it a try. Not really sure I like it, I'll wait it might grow on me, lol! StampTV potluck Friday challenge was to do a card with only words. Well I'd just finished a gorgeous sympathy card with just words so thought I'd try something new. Tada! LOL The inside of the card says Live, Laugh, Love, Happy Birthday

Fabulous Friend

A friend brought over some left over paper after doing some invitations. I had to make her a thank you card and of course this card was for, wait for it... yes... a challenge card. It was soo hard to guess wasn't it! The challenge was to do a monochromatic card. I love one colour cards, they look so elegant. Have a great weekend!

Hibiscus forever

This card is for a challenge using weaving. Man is that hard! I threw away two backgrounds before keeping this one. I like it, kind of, but I don't think I'll be using weaving very much on my cards!

Inspired by Nature

This is one of the pictures going into my perpetual journal. I did a stamp tv challenge which was to use buttons. This has got to be the hardest challenge for me because I don't use buttons, hense the brads that look like buttons. After I finished the flowers BEFORE I put the brads on I went looking for buttons. There's a really nice shirt of Robins hanging waiting to be ironed and its got beautiful burgandy buttons. Hmmm I'm looking at the extra button sewn on the inside thinking, "Well he won't miss it" Thank goodness I didn't take it because you had to use at least two, lol! I wonder if he'd miss one on the opening of his shirt. You know he really doesn't button it up all of the way, lol! Now when I throw away old shirts I'm going to have to scarf the buttons! Congratulations!

I'm going to an engagement party on Saturday and this is the card I did. Its also a stamp tv Potluck Friday challenge. There were 4 parts to it
1) 1 or more designer paper. I made my own paper with 3 different vellums.
2) 2 or more bling, there are heart and rhinestone brads as well as the entire image is embossed in kleidascope powder and is sparkly!
3) 3 or more pastel colours, pink, green, blue, and yellow.
4) 4 or more layers, I have 4. There could also be neutral colours but NO dark ones. This was a hard challenge because I rarely use pastels and when I do its for baby cards but I adore how this turned out!

Rubbernecker Sunflowers

Glenda and I got to stamp and play today! We did the stamptv challenge Potluck Friday found here.
The challenge was to make a card with sunflowers but as an added bonus to do it with the bleaching technique. We stamped and embossed the sunflowers on always artichoke and I bleached the entire image. Then water coloured the leaves in old olive and the centres of the flowers with creamy caramel. I sponged with always artichoke, (next time I'll do it lighter). The always artichoke is matted onto black and onto So saffron. The ribbon and brads are from Michaels. I framed the picture with a black photo corner.

Ladybug Picnic

Glenda and I did the Stamptv challenge today (during our Stamp-n-play date, lol) which was to do a card with a food theme. I chose Stampin Up Ladybug Picnic. The trail of ladybugs is from Stampin Up Itty Bitty Borders, and the background one all the papers is Stampin Up Sanded. I used stickles diamonds on all three bugs! To play along go here. Stampin Up Lots of Bots

I did this card for a stamp tv challenge called Potluck Friday. You can go here to play. This weeks challenge was to make a boys card with no bling or pink! I used Stampin Up Lots of Bots with Night of Navy, Summer Sun (sponged More Mustard) and Real Red. The brads are from Michaels and the ribbon is from Stampin Up.

Stampin Up Embrace Life

Glenda and I played while Joyce and Tanis did the Christmas card workshop. How sweet is that! Glenda and I did a Stamp TV challenge. I love how the card turned out even though the Designer paper in the background was suppose to show through the flowers. Oh well, I guess I had better read the challenges better, lol! I had fun and so did Glenda. When we started out the Designer paper appeared darker. But when you add a coloured flower it faded into the background. Its still lovely. I used Embrace Life and coloured the flowers in Cameo Coral, then embossed over them. I stamped the leaves in Always Artichoke and coloured them using mellow moss and then Always Artichoke just like Michelle Zindorf does in her tutorials. I stamped Stampin Up Sanded on the Dusty Durango in Dusty Durango. Have a great weekend.

Stampin Up Bright Bulbs wheel

This is a quick Christmas card I did for a challenge at Stamp TV called Potluck Friday. The challenge was to use punches. The wheel is from Stampin Up called Bright Bulbs. I used crystal effects to make it look like glass. I used the wheel on the background with Summer sun on Yoyo yellow. The punch is from Stampin up the scallop square.
